Botox, Levulan & Sculptra
I have always loved the sunshine. When I was younger I was not as careful as I could have been about wearing enough sunscreen, covering up and wearing hats. Even now, although I am a lot more sensible, I will not sacrifice the enjoyment I get from being out and about on boats and beaches during the summer weekends and vacations.
Botox and Levulan:
I would not want to have my face operated on but I rely on Dr. McGovern to fix the little things. I have had Botox and fillers to lift the corners of my mouth and my brows. But one of the best things I have done is a series of “blue light” Levulan treatments which worked wonders on my skin by correcting sun damage.
I started three years ago and now I try to have a couple of treatments a year. The procedures are painless – just waiting for an hour for the chemicals to absorb into my face before “the blue light” treatment that lasts 18 minutes. I have to be careful and stay indoors after the treatments for a few days and the first time I had quite a lot of redness, peeling and puffy eyes – which proves I had a lot of sun damage that’s now been erased. Sculptra:
I love it! Sculptra is very subtle but every week I see a difference. Everyone around me actually noticed it more than I did.
Honestly, I had a virtual facelift. People around me who don’t know I’ve had anything done still notice. They tell me I look great and ask what I’m doing differently. I’ve told a few people but most don’t know. In fact, I had a new driver’s license photo taken and it looked like me, back in the day!
I did not know this could be done without an actual facelift. I can hardly articulate how Sculptra has been. It’s like, wow! (Click on video to the right)
