When I was 37 I had breast cancer. I went through chemotherapy, radiation and an ovary transplant. So I had some premature skin aging that’s one of the side effects and dry skin. I contemplated Botox for a long time – noticing the aging especially around my mouth.
I’m relatively new to all of this. It was about a year ago that I had my first Botox. I had a friend who’d done it first which gave me confidence to go to Dr McGovern. I was a little nervous because I didn’t want to have a frozen look or like somebody with a different face but I decided to go for it and I am glad I did.
My co-workers and my sisters noticed immediately. It was subtle enough that it wasn’t a huge wow-factor but people who know me best knew that I looked different. I felt confident—like it refreshed me and helped me feel better about myself. I will definitely continue doing Botox.
